Every year on August 15th the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, in the chapel of Panagia, in Kato Koufonissi. On the morning of August 15th, the boats from Pano Koufonissi pick up those who wish to go to Kato Koufonissi. It is the only day of the year when the small ferry 'Skopelitis', which serves the line of the Small Cyclades, deviates from its course to dock at the small pier outside the church of Panagia. The divine service is held in the chapel of Panagia. At the end of the service, various snacks are offered to everyone, contributed by the residents.
